For health‑service companies

We invest in impactful, growth-oriented healthcare service companies. Our broad experience in entrepreneurship and leadership within the sector helps us identify how and in which direction a company should be developed.

What kind of companies do we invest in?

Athensmed’s roots lie firmly in health services. Our founder Kustaa Piha, has built and grown several companies in the sector, among them Med Group – a success story in Finnish private healthcare. He has also helped launch ventures such as Omaeläinklinikka and the psychotherapy provider Komppi.

Athensmed acts as an active owner in healthcare service companies where accessibility, quality, and cost-efficiency can be improved. At present, we are developing Sofita, our social and healthcare subsidiary, through acquisitions, and building a new associated company, Lähilääkärit, which introduces a lean and genuinely accessible model for doctor services to the market.

We believe that when service delivery is reimagined and patient experience is placed at the centre, health‑service companies can be truly innovative.

Are we the right investor for your company?

How can we support your company?

Do you need a knowledgeable, committed investor who understands the sector inside‑out to help develop your health‑service offerings and scale your business? Our broad experience in entrepreneurship and leadership within the sector helps us identify how and in which direction a company should be developed.

In health‑service firms with rapid growth, challenges often include finding and retaining skilled senior talent, recruiting qualified staff can also be difficult in the current market. Fast growth also brings operational hurdles – as processes, IT systems and management practices must be upgraded to match the larger scale. By focusing on solving the right problems, we enable swift and profitable growth.

We have helped develop health‑service businesses, for example:

  1. through positions on the board, both as members and chairs
  2. as a medical and healthcare expert, and
  3. in a interim operational role
